IDAHO Day services held in cathedrals at Cork and Dublin

The Bishop of Cork, the Rt. Revd. Paul Colton took part in the IDAHO DAY service at St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral Cork last Sunday (17th May) to mark the International Day Against Homophobia, which was arranged by the Christian pro-gay group Changing Attitude Ireland. It is the oldest church in Belfast but it broke new ground at the weekend with its defence of gay people. A service to mark International Day Against Homophobia was held at St George’s Church of Ireland Church. Belfast News Letter: Orange anger at Church gay row

A PLAN to “celebrate diversity” at a high-profile Church of Ireland service has been scrapped after the Loyal Orders withdrew over the involvement of a pro-gay lobby group. The symbolic service, held during the Church’s annual General Synod in Armagh, to be attended by the Roman Catholic Cardinal, Sean Brady, would have been the spiritual focal point of what is effectively the denomination’s parliament.
